Platinum sugar gliders have a light silver (powdered) body with a light dorsal stripe and markings. The three original lines of platinums are Haley, Silverbelle and Chance platinum. To breed a platinum sugar glider, the joey must have at least one platinum allele to display phenotypically. EX (PLAT, LEU alleles) (PLAT, PLAT alleles) (this second combination is much rarer and can be referred to as a super platinum).
Platinums can carry the Leucistic gene, but Leucistics do not carry the Platinum gene. Platinum sugar gliders can be both the mosaic and platinum at the same time, making them True Platinum Mosaics (called TPM). Typically, a TPM has a white “flash” mosaic marking on its neck and a white or ring tail.

At the Pet Glider, we fly (ship) our sugar gliders on Passenger Planes that have climate-controlled cargo areas (with same day arrival). Please be aware that there is the potential for flights to be delayed or rescheduled due to issues beyond our control, such as weather or mechanical concerns. We package our gliders with extra hydrating food and water gel for this reason and include instructions for airline personnel on the shipping crate in case of delay.
The shipping cost is $249.00 for domestic flights (United States) through Delta Airlines and this covers up to four sugar gliders. The airline that we use can vary based on your location. This shipping cost is for gliders shipped within the contiguous United States. This include airfare, shipping crate and travel/sleeping pouch. We ship throughout the United States. Canada is considered an international destination; therefore, shipping will need to be discussed & quoted. In addition, we are Expert International Shippers and ship our sugar gliders worldwide. If you have additional questions about shipping to your area, please email: sales@thepetglider.com
Summer Heat or Winter Cold: We try to exclusively use Delta Airlines to ship our sugar gliders domestically. Their pet-safe program is top-notch, and they have temperature-controlled vans that transport live animals to the planes. However, Delta does not fly to all locations. Some airlines have heat or cold embargoes imposed for the safety of the animals. Live animals are not allowed to take off or land in a location where the temperature is not safe for live animals. We do our best to work around these embargoes. Be advised that we may have to postpone the arrival of your new family member until the weather in your part of the world changes either cools down or warms up. For more information about airlines and embargoes, email: sales@thepetglider.com
