Dawn from Oregon | Shared On: Wed Jan 30 19:02:54 2008 The baby arrived right on time! She and my other glider are acting like they have known each other their entire lives. Things could not be going better. Thanks! |
| Jackie | Shared On: Wed Sep 5 13:18:25 2007 The gliders are still sleeping in separate pouches, and Muskrat still hisses when Brigid comes near her. I had got my tent ready for that night. I waited until they were ready to wake up and went in the tent with them. I hung up ropes and had different toys for them to play with. The tent is all mesh so they can climb all over it. After eating some worms, Brigid wanted to cuddle with me, so she wrapped herself in her blankie and I held her in my hands against my chest and she took a nap. Well, Muskrat was on my shoulder when this happened and after a few minutes she crawled down and took a nap with Brigid in my hands. Then when they woke up they were raring to go! Muskrat was climbing everywhere and then Brigid started to play; but again when Brigid would get a little too aggressive Muskrat would hiss. So I tried something from the Dog Whisperer and when Brigid was being a little over the top I would shush her and tap her nose to get her attention. Then she would look at me and forget what she was doing. Maybe I'm becoming the glider whisperer. After two hours I put them in their cage and got their food together. When I got back, they were both running on the big wodent wheel I have in the cage. So it looks like things are getting better. I want to thank you so much for Muskrat. She is the sweetest, gentlest little girl just like my Brigid! I am so fortunate that there are wonderful breeders like you out there who make such wonderful lifemates for us humans. I'll give you another update next week! |
| Rachel & Russell | Shared On: Thu Aug 16 12:43:31 2007 Sydney is thrilled with Leon and so are we! First thing we did was put Leon's yellow pouch in her cage and she went wild with excitement. We spent some quality time with Leon (we were up till 4 in the morning) and he really warmed up to us and jumped back in forth from Derek to me looking for yogurt drops and mealies. Then we let Leon climb around the outside of Sydney's cage. Her reaction was priceless!
We switched their cages and let Leon explore the big one for the night. This morning we had the supervised formal introduction. We put their pouches down on a flat surface facing each other. They both peeked out and Sydney tiptoed into his and rubbed her face all over him. We are going to keep them apart for the next couple of days when we are not watching but I believe this is going to be a match made in heaven. Sydney seems happier and much more sure of herself (less shaky and darty) already. Thank you very much for all the time you spent with us and for raising such a sweet boy. |
Rachel from New York | Shared On: Mon Aug 6 20:28:27 2007 He is such a sweetie! He is so playful and just has an amazing personality. My mother was over for a visit and wanted to come pick him up and fell in love with him too. She adores the sugar gliders but she swears he likes her best...(Here he is, pictured on the far right, with his family):
What an amazing boy! He is so, so handsome and loves mealies and running on his wheel. He loves toys too! And his coat is so shiny and soft I can tell he was taken great care of Now our only problem is deciding which name to go with! I'll keep you updated on how he is doing but based on these first few hours he is such a pleasure to be around and I am sure it will only get better. Thank you so much for such a sweet, sweet baby and taking such amazing care of him till he could come to his new home |
